Definition- CV

abbreviation for curriculum vitae : a shortwritten description of your education, qualifications, previous jobs, and sometimes also your personal interests, that you send to an employer when you are trying to get a job

A personal profile isn't something that I was familiar with before starting this module, I was aware of how to do a CV although looking at this further i also realised the differences in types of CV's and how they can be often interchangeable depending on what job etc it is that your applying for.
After looking at personal profiles however, I found these are a little more general and done in a more text written format, rather than bullet points or short sentences. I found these to be more attributes rather than giving details on previous job roles etc. After reading a variety of profiles I have decided to write my own as a starting point to this module.

My Personal Profile.

I am an enthusiastically, motivated individual, who thrives off being given new challenges. As well as embracing working within a team, I also love working individually on personal projects. I love learning new skills and I’m always open to new ideas, and theories, to broaden my personal and professional development.

After training In all aspects of Musical Theatre, I then used these skills to go on to enjoy a professional stage career, before moving on to a new challenge of learning and teaching circus skills over in America. This was a challenge I fully embraced and learnt from. Continuing my love of teaching I then returned home and became a vice principal (and then principal) of the dancing school I had grown up in.

Alongside teaching at the dance school, I the  then created new opportunities and personal challenges  by moving into the state education sector teaching a wide range of Physical Education and GCSE Dance.

Now continuing learning through all my experiences and teaching I also now want to fully embrace my professional development whilst studying this as Middlesex University.

Module 1 Task 1A

So after a little time off after a busy few months with my dance school, I'm ready to continue and fully embrace the course..

I started to look back at my CV and realised I have never really changed it from the one I used as a dancer as I have never needed what you call a 'normal' CV. However after starting to look at other peoples CV's and some template examples online, I realised how very different they are- no photo, no personal physical details etc.

I have uploaded my old dancer CV and I am now going to research other CVs and start creating a new CV compiling all my dance training, performing but also teaching and current work to see how this differs.
